Terms of Service

LLM Wiki · Effective date: April 26, 2026

These terms govern your use of LLM Wiki ("the Service"), operated by Polybius, L.L.C., a Delaware limited liability company ("Polybius," "we," "us," "our"), at llmwiki.app. By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

What LLM Wiki is

LLM Wiki is a free, open-source knowledge base that lets you store documents, notes, and wiki pages, and connect them to AI assistants via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The Service is provided at no cost.

Your account

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

Your content

You own everything you upload to or create within LLM Wiki. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

"Processing" includes: text extraction from PDFs and office documents, indexing content for search, and making content available to AI tools you have connected via MCP.

When you delete content, we delete it permanently (subject to a standard 7-day database backup retention window).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
  • Use the Service to store or distribute malware
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Abuse the Service infrastructure (excessive API calls, scraping, automated bulk uploads beyond reasonable personal use)
  • Resell access to the Service
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

PDF processing limits

The Service includes PDF processing (OCR and text extraction) subject to per-user limits. Current limits are displayed in your account settings. We may adjust these limits at any time. If your usage exceeds the limit, PDF processing will be paused but your existing content remains accessible.

AI tool connections

The Service allows you to connect third-party AI tools (such as Claude by Anthropic) via MCP. When connected:

  • The AI tool can read, search, write, and modify content in your knowledge bases
  • AI-generated content (wiki pages, edits, notes) is stored in your knowledge base like any other content
  • You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content for accuracy
  • We are not responsible for actions taken by connected AI tools

You can disconnect AI tools at any time by removing the MCP connector in the respective AI tool's settings.

The Service is provided "as is"

LLM Wiki is a free, open-source project. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Availability or uptime guarantees
  • Data integrity or protection against loss
  • Accuracy of AI-generated content
  • Fitness for any particular purpose
  • Security against all possible threats

We strongly recommend maintaining your own backups of important content. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data (encryption at rest, row-level security, standard infrastructure practices), we cannot guarantee against data loss.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polybius, L.L.C. and its officers, directors, and maintainers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).

Service continuity

LLM Wiki is a free, open-source project maintained by Polybius, L.L.C. We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any feature at any time
  • Shut down the hosted Service with 30 days' notice
  • Change these terms with reasonable notice

If we shut down the hosted Service, we will provide a data export period of at least 30 days. The open-source codebase will remain available for self-hosting regardless of the status of the hosted Service.

Open source

The LLM Wiki codebase is available under the Apache 2.0 license. These terms govern your use of the hosted Service at llmwiki.app, not the open-source software itself. If you self-host LLM Wiki, these terms do not apply — you are governed by the Apache 2.0 license.

Chrome extension

The LLM Wiki browser extension captures web page content and PDF files only when you explicitly activate it. The extension:

  • Does not monitor your browsing activity
  • Does not collect data from pages you do not explicitly clip
  • Sends clipped content directly to the LLM Wiki API over HTTPS
  • Requires authentication with your LLM Wiki account

The extension's use of page content is governed by this Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of New York County, New York.
